Special Events and Work Days

BuildFest

In addition to helping with the day-to-day operations of The Children’s Playhouse, we also seek volunteers in larger numbers for our annual STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) event, BuildFest, which is held in April at Watauga High School. We need over 100 volunteers for BuildFest to help with set-up and clean-up and with running activities. Click here to find out more about volunteering at BuildFest.

Summer at The Farmers’ Market

In the summer, The Playhouse provides activities at the Kids’ Corner at the Watauga County Farmers’ Market on the 1st and 5th Saturday of every month.

Group Work Days

Lastly, if you would like to volunteer as a group, we hold work days at least once or twice a quarter to do tasks like deep cleaning, spreading mulch, organizing storage spaces, or painting and making repairs.
