The Children’s Playhouse, a sixteen year old nonprofit children’s museum located in Boone, is hiring for the following professional positions. Operations Manager

The Operations manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the museum to ensure high quality visitor experiences. This includes training, scheduling, and supervising program assistants and volunteers. Responsible for reviewing and implementing policies and procedures for safety and efficiency. OM will also assist the Executive Director with correspondence and record-keeping, so must have good communication and computer skills. Experience with QuickBooks a plus. Position will also involve frontline interaction with families and help at occasional special events offsite. Must be able to climb stairs and lift 50 pounds. Ideal candidate will be friendly, professional, organized, and committed to the mission of The Children’s Playhouse. 20 to 30 hours per week. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Program Director

The Program Director will plan developmentally appropriate educational programs at The Children’s Playhouse and for outreach. The PD will recruit and schedule outside teachers as well as creating programs we can run in house. She or he will also be expected to assist with marketing all Playhouse programs and events. The PD will assist the ED in grant proposals and planning exhibits. 20 hours a week. Ideal candidate will have significant experience and training in early childhood education, the arts, or STEM; be committed to The Playhouse mission; and understand the challenges and opportunities of providing programming in our museum setting. Program assistants

The Children’s Playhouse (goplayhouse.org) is looking for part-time, paid program assistants to staff the nonprofit children’s museum. Hours range from 10 to 20 hours a week depending on availability. We are looking for year round residents who can also work during ASU school breaks. Pay is $8 per hour with a possibility of a raise after 2 months. Must be able to work for 3 to 4 hour shifts, primarily in the afternoons from 2:30-6:00 pm and some Saturdays from 9:30-4:00 pm. Duties include assisting children and adults visiting The Children’s Playhouse; helping keep the facility clean, safe, and attractive; and assisting with office-related projects such as entering data into spreadsheets. Must be willing and able to clean, carry items up and down stairs, and to interact pleasantly with a wide variety of people, including young children and adults. Criminal background check required if hired. This is not a childcare position.
