Program assistants — Hiring for Fall/Winter/Spring 2019

The Children’s Playhouse (goplayhouse.org) is looking for energetic, self-directed program assistants who love working with children and families and also have a great eye for detail and love cleaning. Hours range from 10 to 15 hours a week depending on availability. 

We are especially looking for year round residents who can also work during school breaks. Pay is $8 per hour with a possibility of a raise after 3 months. Must be able to work for 4 to 5 hour shifts to cover our regular business hours, help during birthday parties, do special cleaning projects, and assist during a few special events throughout the year such as BuildFest (the annual STEAM event held at Watauga High School in the spring) and the Grown Ups Party (our annual fundraiser held in the fall) along with a few others. 

Regular daily tasks include: 

  • welcoming children and grown ups who visit The Children’s Playhouse.

  • interacting with all visitors in a friendly and helpful way.

  • taking initiative to keep the facility clean, safe, and attractive at all times.

  • assisting with office-related projects from time to time.

Must be willing and able to clean, carry items up and down stairs, and interact professionally and pleasantly with a wide variety of people including young children and adults. Experience working with children preferred, and ability to work independently and with others is a must.
