The Children's Playhouse turns 24 this November and we're going to celebrate with lots of fun activities including a Playhouse Pajama Party Parents Night Out on Friday November 13th and a Magic Show and a Stick Boy cake on November 14th!
Love The Playhouse? During our birthday month, you'll have a special chance to show your support when you donate to cover the cost of 2,262 free visits for low-income families in our scholarship program.
We welcome over 4,000 visits per year from low-income families, first-time parents, social service agencies, and military families, but less than half of those free visits are covered by grants. The true cost of a Playhouse visit is $14.60 per person.
Thanks to generous matching donors led by The Playhouse Board, every dollar you give for scholarships in November will be doubled!

New, Permanent Exhibit: The Storybook Forest is Open!
Over a year in the making, this all handcrafted exhibit was created by Playhouse Executive Director Kathy Parham with volunteers Ed Folts and Anna Welsh, assisted by wonderful interns and community volunteers. Using painted-paper collage, carpentry, painting, drawing, cloth and paper-mâché sculpture, and block printing, this magical space celebrates nature and the best in children’s literature.
This immersive play environment invites storytelling and curiosity with a puppet theatre inside a tree, an animal apartment, custom costumes, books, and sensory experiences for babies.
