Programs for Children

In addition to the daily drop-in art activities and play areas offered at The Children's Playhouse, we also provide classes and workshops. Read below for more details.

Sensational Sensory Experiences

10:30-11:30 2nd Wednesday of every month.

Target age: Toddlers. However, all activities can be easily adjusted for younger or older children (and adults!). Led by Rebekah Cummings. Free to members or with paid admission to The Children's Playhouse.

January: Ooey-Gooey Fun: What happens when you mix cornstarch and water?
February: Movin’ and Groovin’

Ooey-Gooey Fun: What happens when you mix cornstarch and water?
A lot of fun that’s what! This activity not only allows your child a fascinating sensory experience, it also introduces the science concepts of mixture and experimenting as we blend various amounts of water and cornstarch together and come up with different consistencies of our mixture.

Movin’ and Groovin’
Plans are to put on some fun tunes and do some free-style dancing. We may also do some guided movement and sing some songs with hand motions, depending on the age of the group.

Angel Bear Yoga

11:00-11:30 Saturdays, March 10th and April 21st

*The April 21st class will start at 10:30 am.

Angel Bear Yoga is a children’s yoga program created to nurture the spirit of a child while fostering a sense of wonder and deep appreciation for nature. Both parents and children (aged 2 and up) can enjoy this quality family activity together while learning poses representing positive character traits. This class is taught by trained Angel Bear Yoga instructor Lynette Walker. This class is free to members or with paid admission to The Children’s Playhouse.
