  • Program Assistants and the Clean Team  — Now Hiring for June, 2021

    The Children’s Playhouse is currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are busily renovating our space and will reopen to the public in mid-June, 2021. We are now accepting applications for program assistants in late April to begin work in early June. 

    Note on COVID-19: We will be reopening with strict COVID-19 safety protocols to protect our staff and our visitors who include young children. The Playhouse facility is well-ventilated and will have a air purifier. Personal protective equipment will be provided. Candidates must be willing to support these protocols including wearing masks at all times. COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged and may be required in the future. 

    Job Description for Program Assistants

    The Children’s Playhouse seeks energetic, self-directed frontline staff who love working with children and families and also have a great eye for detail and love cleaning. Must be willing to abide by COVID-19 safety protocols. Hours range from 10 to 15 hours a week depending on availability. 

    We are especially looking for year round residents who can also work during school breaks. Pay is $9 per hour with a possibility of a raise after 3 months. (Pay rate is higher for Clean Team shifts — see below) Must be able to work for 4 to 5 hour shifts to cover our regular business hours, help during birthday parties, do special cleaning projects, and assist during a few special events throughout the year. 

    Must be willing and able to clean, carry items up and down stairs, and interact professionally and pleasantly with a wide variety of people including young children and adults. Experience working with children preferred, and ability to work independently and with others is a must.

    Job Description for Clean Team

    The Clean Team works after hours to perform deep cleaning of the Playhouse facility. Must be detailed-oriented and motivated to clean the facility thoroughly. Must be able to climb stairs and lift 50 pounds. Pay is $10 per hour with a possibility of a raise after 3 months. Program assitants may also serve on the Clean Team and will be paid Clean Team rates when performing those duties. We also accept applications for Clean Team only. Criminal background check required if hired. This is not a childcare position.
