• Now Hiring Professional Staff Position: Accounting Operations Manager

    The Children’s Playhouse, the High Country’s only nonprofit children’s museum, is looking for an efficient, knowledgeable, detail-oriented person to maintain accurate financial records for the museum. Work flexible hours in a friendly, nonprofit workplace.

    Monthly tasks include verifying transactions which come into QuickBooks Online (QBO) via Stripe and Shopify, paying bills, running payroll, filing taxes, and preparing reports for the Board of Directors. Must be highly proficient with QBO. Must be comfortable learning new software and understand basic accounting principles. Bachelor’s degree or significant work experience in accounting or business preferred. The AOM works closely with the Treasurer and the Executive Director. 

    Hours and Pay: 25 hours per week to full time, hourly ranging from $20-$24 dependent on experience and skills.

  • Program Assistants and the Clean Team

    Job Description for Program Assistants

    The Children’s Playhouse seeks energetic, self-directed frontline staff who love working with children and families and also have a great eye for detail and love cleaning. Must be willing to abide by COVID-19 safety protocols including masking and vaccination. Hours range from 10 to 15 hours a week depending on availability. 

    We are especially looking for year round residents who can also work during school breaks. Pay is $10 per hour with an eligibility for a raise at 3 months. (Pay rate is higher for Clean Team shifts — see below) Must be able to work for 4 to 5 hour shifts to cover our regular business hours, help during birthday parties, do special cleaning projects, and assist during a few special events throughout the year. 

    Must be willing and able to clean, carry items up and down stairs, and interact professionally and pleasantly with a wide variety of people including young children and adults. Experience working with children preferred, and ability to work independently and with others is a must. Full vaccination against COVID-19 required of all staff members who work with the public. Criminal background check required if hired. This is not a childcare position.  

    Job Description for Clean Team

    The Clean Team works after hours to perform deep cleaning of the Playhouse facility. Must be detailed-oriented and motivated to clean the facility thoroughly. Must be able to climb stairs and lift 50 pounds. Pay is $11 per hour with a possibility of a raise after 3 months. Program assistants may also serve on the Clean Team and will be paid Clean Team rates when performing those duties. We also accept applications for Clean Team only. Criminal background check required if hired. This is not a childcare position.
