• Staying Healthy at The Children’s Playhouse

Your health is ALWAYS important to us! Like you, The Children’s Playhouse is monitoring the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19)  and will follow recommendations of the CDC and the local health department.  Please see our Reopening FAQ for specific policies in place as of July 2021 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Children’s Playhouse operates daily to a higher cleaning standard than most public places and we have always taken the following precautions to protect the health and safety of all of our visitors, volunteers, and staff members.

Daily Playhouse Procedures to Stop the Spread of Germs

    1. Everyone is asked to wash hands with soap upon entry. Clean towels are provided for drying hands.
    2. Additionally, hand sanitizer and tissues are provided in every room for use after coughing or sneezing.
    3. Receptacles are provided in every play area for mouthed or dirtied toys and loose parts.
    4. ALL play props and toys are sanitized on a regular frequent schedule using either diluted bleach solution, sanitizing wipes, or machine washing depending on the material.
    5. Baby Boxes with developmental toys are available on request for infants. When you leave, turn in the Baby Box and we will sanitize the contents.
    6. Playhouse staff clean high touch surfaces such as door knobs and table edges throughout the day using hospital grade sanitizing wipes.
    7. Bathrooms are cleaned daily and checked throughout the day.

    We Need Your Help!

We regularly train our staff and volunteers to maintain these high standards but we also depend on the help and cooperation of our visitors.

    1. Please help the Playhouse community stay safe for all by staying home if you or your child are sick, particularly if you or they have had cold or cough symptoms with fever, diarrhea, or vomiting in the last 24 hours.
    2. Please use the receptacles for mouthed toys.
    3. Please teach your child proper handwashing technique.
    4. Please teach your child to cough and sneeze into their elbow or a tissue. Whenever practical after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose, it is best to then wash hands or use hand sanitizer.
    5. Please respect the Playhouse food policy (see below).

    Playhouse Food Policy

No food or drink will be allowed inside The Children’s Playhouse or on The Children’s Playhouse playgrounds at this time. There is a picnic table outside the lower playground. Families are asked to observe social distancing when using the picnic table and to clean up after themselves. As always, The Playhouse is a peanut-free and nut-free facility.

We are also sorry to say that we will not be serving coffee while our mask policy is in place. You may bring a water bottle with you. You may return to your vehicle at any time if you need a water break or have a snack. We ask that you wash your hands again when you come back in.
