Presented by The Children’s Playhouse, Playhouse BuildFest will be held from 10 am-2 pm on Saturday, April 13 at Watauga High School. There will be a special “soft open” from 9 am to 10 am for kids with special needs.

This FREE event features hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) activities for kids aged 2-12. There will be all ages activities as well as activities specifically designed for preschool, grades K-3, and grades 4-6.

This year’s BuildFest will include the Children's Council Family Village, an area within BuildFest that will focus on families, providing resources for parents/caregivers, quiet space for sensory overload, and activities for kids under five.

Activity Partners and Volunteers Needed for Playhouse BuildFest 2019

Help us pull off an amazing community event for kids and families! Playhouse BuildFest will held on Saturday April 13, 2019 at Watauga High School. We are looking for 25-40 Activity Partners, groups that will plan and staff activities at BuildFest, and 50 Volunteer Play Facilitators, who will give 2 or more hours on the day of the event. Read on to find out how to be an activity partner or volunteer play facilitator.

ACTIVITY PARTNERS

Register to participate here by March 25. Activity plans will be finalized in late March.

We are seeking ASU classes and clubs, as well as community groups, to offer hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities and/or demonstrations aimed at kids aged 2-12 accompanied by their parents at next spring’s second annual Playhouse Build Fest. 

Day of Event Volunteers/Play Facilitators

Don't have time to plan an activity this year? We are also looking for 40-100 volunteer "play facilitators" who will commit to staff Playhouse-planned activities for for 3 to 5 hours on the day of the event. We will provide these volunteers with a one hour training session prior to the event. Click here for the Play Facilitators Interest form.
